Interesting Bible Facts
Do you know how many books are in the Bible? That’s right there are sixty-six books in the Bible. Great job let’s try this one how many books are there in the Old Testament? That was close as you now know the Old Testament has thirty-nine books. Ok now an easy one as we know the total books and the Old Testament has Thirty-nine so what’s left is the number of books in the New Testament? There are twenty-seven books in the New Testament. We have used the word”Testament” What does it mean? Think hard……ok Testament means “covenant” or “contract.” Looking at the Old Testament who wrote most of it? Did you say Moses because He wrote the first five books of the Bible and you would be correct! The Bible can be allot of fun I challenge you to find information and challenge your family, make it fun and they will love it! God Bless and take care!

The Alpha and Omega
Rev 22:12“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone according to his work. 13I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
Wow we serve a mighty God if you stop and think about it our problems become a little smaller and easier to handle knowing God is there for us and is coming back for us soon. We can never do enough works to get to heaven we must also know it’s by Gods grace that we are saved and that Jesus died on the cross for us and rose again 3 days later.
Mark 13:32“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. 34It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning—36lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”
Are you ready if Jesus comes tonight? Are you sure? What about your loved ones or your neighbors and co-workers. Are you happy with how you have helped spread the word? God says no one knows the day or hour when he will come back for us not even the Angels in heaven. Friends I pray that you know Jesus and that you’re watching for his return if that’s not the case I pray that you will ask Jesus into your heart. Feel free to email or call me if you need to talk. my contact information is later in this article.

Reflecting God's Light
We need to strive to be a reflection of God's light all the time. When we are at church or are around Christians it is really easy the true test is when we are out in the world. How do we act when we are at the mall or what about at work where we want to fit in and be one of the crowd. Those are the times when we need to let our light shine. We need to lead by example people want what others have, so if your light is shining others will see. I was reading an article today posted on Yahoo's main page about a gentleman that got fired. He wore a pin supporting God and country for over a year, He then started reading his bible while on break in the break room and shortly after that he was fired for refusing to take the pin off that he had worn for a year to work. I am including the link to this story not sure how long it stays valid. Point is he stood up for his beliefs and paid the price for letting his light shine. I pray that God will bless this young man! I emailed that company and told them my thoughts and I vow to let my light shine no matter where I am! Here is the link as promised http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_god_button_home_depot

Losing a Parent
You are my lamp, O LORD; the LORD turns my darkness into light. 2 Sam 22:29 Losing a Parent his hard, I recently lost my Father. Our first memories are often of our parents as they are the ones to nurture us. Parents have an awesome responsibility and it's not an easy task either. Learning to raise children is a learning curve as all children are different. I have six children and really respect my parents as I know what they went through for me and my sisters. Because Dad always was there to provide for us we as small kids probably took things for granted. I didn't realize how hard my parents had to struggle to ensure we were taken care of and wanted for nothing. I have a strong connection with my children and I want to create memories for them as one day I won't be walking this earth anymore. Losing my dad was hard as it sets in that I will never be able to see him again. I pray that he is in Heaven and one day we will be reunited. Everyone who believes that Jesus … is born of God, & everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 1 Jn 5:1 Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God forever and ever. Amen!" Rev 7:12

Proverbs equal Wisdom
Hello and thank you for reading my Blog, Today we are going to break down Proverbs 1 and I hope this helps you better understand. I highly recommend that you read a proverb a day, every day. There is so much wisdom in proverbs and you will really be blessed. We serve a mighty God who loves us more than we will ever understand.
Proverbs 1
1The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel:
2 To know wisdom and instruction,
To perceive the words of understanding,
3 To receive the instruction of wisdom,
Justice, judgment, and equity;
4 To give prudence to the simple,
To the young man knowledge and discretion—
Explaining the purpose of the Book of Proverbs. Let’s take the verbs to perceive, to Know, and to receive they refer to the ways in which we obtain wisdom. Wisdom refers to skill. Instruction might also be translated as discipline; referring to the process of receiving knowledge and then applying it to your daily life. Wisdom in this verse denotes applied skill, such as that of a musician. In other words, wisdom affects living the same way the skills of artists affect the practice of their craft. The words judgment, Justice and equity give wisdom, discipline, and words of insight. Now Biblical wisdom involves a change of behavior and a commitment to justice.
The simple (naïve) are young, inexperienced, and very likely to make mistakes. The terms prudence and discretion include the cruel facts of life. A wise person has learned by experience how to make a distinction between what is praiseworthy, true and good from what is false, disgraceful, and bad.
5 A wise man will hear and increase learning,
And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,
6 To understand a proverb and an enigma,
The words of the wise and their riddles.
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
There will always be more to learn when increasing learning: We never really finishes the study of wisdom; Wisdom speaks of the lessons that a more mature person gains from the study of a proverb, the fear of the Lord is the most crucial ingredient in wisdom. All wisdom depends on the knowledge of God and submission to His will.
8 My son, hear the instruction of your father,
And do not forsake the law of your mother;
9 For they will be a graceful ornament on your head,
And chains about your neck.
The opening expressions of wisdom is an appeal from parents to their son (or child) A subject matter that continues throughout the book.
10 My son, if sinners entice you,
Do not consent.
11 If they say, “Come with us,
Let us lie in wait to shed blood;
Let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause;
12 Let us swallow them alive like £Sheol,
And whole, like those who go down to the Pit;
13 We shall find all kinds of precious possessions,
We shall fill our houses with spoil;
14 Cast in your lot among us,
Let us all have one purse”—
The phrase- if sinners entice you: This is the first of many texts in which wisdom teaches using a story.
15 My son, do not walk in the way with them,
Keep your foot from their path;
16 For their feet run to evil,
And they make haste to shed blood.
17 Surely, in vain the net is spread
In the sight of any bird;
18 But they lie in wait for their own blood,
They lurk secretly for their own lives.
The parents speak words of caution. One step on this abrupt path will lead you toward destruction. Spreading a net in the sight of a bird that you wish to trap would be a futile task. Yet the fool is less sensible than the bird; he will watch the trap being set and get caught in it anyway.
19 So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain;
It takes away the life of its owners.
20 Wisdom calls aloud outside;
She raises her voice in the open squares.
21 She cries out in the chief concourses,
At the openings of the gates in the city
She speaks her words:
Take the following: It takes away the life, now these words conclude the story and begin a theme that the following passages will develop. The study of wisdom should be considered a matter of life and death.
22 “How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity?
For scorners delight in their scorning,
And fools hate knowledge.
23 Turn at my rebuke;
Surely I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you.
24 Because I have called and you refused,
I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded,
25 Because you disdained all my counsel,
And would have none of my rebuke,
26 I also will laugh at your calamity;
I will mock when your terror comes,
27 When your terror comes like a storm,
And your destruction comes like a whirlwind,
When distress and anguish come upon you.
The word wisdom addresses the simple ones or the naïve ones. Who are actually young people who need to make up their minds about life and the direction they will take. Wisdom ridicules those who reject her and Wisdom laughs with joy at God’s works and has delight in the people of God.
28 “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer;
They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.
29 Because they hated knowledge
And did not choose the fear of the Lord,
30 They would have none of my counsel
And despised my every rebuke.
31 Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way,
And be filled to the full with their own fancies.
32 For the turning away of the simple will slay them,
And the complacency of fools will destroy them;
33 But whoever listens to me will dwell safely,
And will be secure, without fear of evil.”
When fools despise wisdom, I will not answer, they must face the results of their choice. Their loathing for wisdom arises out of a denial to fear God. As fools bring about their own destruction because Rejection of wisdom will slay them. This dismal warning ends with a promise of life to the few who will listen; they will find safety and ease.

Miracles: Do you Believe in Miracles
Hello and May God Bless you and your Family. When we read the bible we learn of many great miracles. Close your eyes and you can envision Jesus Healing the blind or feeding the masses and even raising the dead. The Bible is packed with many miracles. Do you believe in miracles. We serve a Mighty God, YAHWEH-RAPHA: "The Lord Who Heals" (Exodus 15:26) – “I am Jehovah who heals you” both in body and soul. In body, by preserving from diseases, and by curing them when afflicted with them and in soul, by pardoning their iniquities. The Lord can heal our bodies today; this is for us simply for the asking and believing in God’s word. The Bible says by his stripes we are healed, not we might be healed. Sometimes healings happen on the spot and other times they happen in Gods time, all we have to do is have faith. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1, KJV")
Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:3-6 KJV
I have said and thought the following words, have you....be honest. Sometimes it is hard to imagine why things happen on this earth. Why some people get Healed at once and some who have had Hundreds praying for years don't get healed. This is where we fall back on the above proverb; Lean not on our own understanding. God knows the outcome of our lives already, and one day we will understand why things have happened the way they have. As a Christian we need to trust in the Lord with all our Heart and Soul. We have to have faith that by his stripes we are healed. There can be no doubt for we serve a Mighty God!

This man of God has been preaching full time for 35 years as of October 10th 2009. He and his wife will be taking over full time early November 2009 as God has called him to serve the Catoosa and surrounding communities. Can you hear Gods calling in your life? Will you listen to the Lord when he whispers his callings or will you dismiss them? God will love you no matter what choice you make. The Lord is coming for his church soon, Will you be ready? Join Pastor Larry Newton and his wife Reta as they begin a new chapter in their life as they are listening to Gods calling. NKJV 1 John 3:1-3 1Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
NKJV 1 John 3:7 little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. Pastor Larry Newton preaches Gods word. Everything he preaches comes from the bible. God loves us and wants none of us to perish and it is up to us to be a reflection of Gods light. Are you a reflection or do you shy away from spreading the good news to those who need it? Power House Worship Center does not shy away from the word. When you’re worshipping there you can feel the presence of our God! NKJV 1 John 3:18-24 18My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 19And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. 20For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. 21Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. 22And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. 24Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. Folks if that doesn’t get you excited, what will? I urge you to join Power House Worship Center for service, you will be blessed.

God is an Awesome God
Wow, what more can we say! We can stop at the title and hold service! Thank you Jesus! God is a generic name meaning deity and can be used for many things including false ones. Jesus told us to be very careful that we do not worship the wrong Christ with false doctrine. "For false Christ's and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." (Mark 13:22) "All things have been delivered to me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him." (Matthew 11:27) YAHWEH-ROHI: "The Lord Our Shepherd" (Psalm 23:1) - After David pondered his relationship as a shepherd to his sheep, he realized that was exactly the relationship God had with him, and so he declares "Yahweh-Rohi is my Shepherd. I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1). My God is an Awesome God, He meets all of our needs and answers our prayers in his timing not ours. Sometimes we may think God isn't hearing us or answering our prayers, just because it's not answered right then or answered how we want. God is all knowing and does what's best for us in the long term. Thank you Jesus!
EL-OLAM: "Everlasting God" (Psalm 90:1-3) - God's nature is without beginning or end, free from all constraints of time and contains within Himself the very cause of time itself. "From everlasting to everlasting, you are God." It is so great to know we serve a Mighty God, a God that loves us no matter what we do. All we have to do is ask for his forgiveness. Do you know the lord? Jesus died for us on the cross and rose 3 days later. He died for our sins. He is at the right hand side of God and has gone to prepare a place for us. Do you believe, confess it with all your heart and soul and ask Jesus to come into your life. We have to have faith but it's through Gods grace that were saved! EL-GIBHOR: "Mighty God" (Isaiah 9:6) - The name describing the Messiah, Christ Jesus, in this prophetic portion of Isaiah. As a powerful and mighty warrior, the Messiah, the Mighty God, will accomplish the destruction of God's enemies and rule with a rod of iron (Revelation 19:15).

Saved By Faith!
Faith was selected as the channel of our salvation! "By grace are ye saved through faith," is confidently the doctrine of Holy Scripture, and the decree of God; have you ever wondered why? How come faith is chosen rather than hope, love, or even patience?We should be reserved in answering such a question, for God's ways are not always to be understood; we should not question them. The reason Faith saves us is because it makes us cling to God, thus bringing us into a direct connection with Him. Thanks be unto God for His wonderful gift: Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God is the object of our faith; the only faith that saves is faith in Him.
I am going to illustrate this very clearly. The kind of Faith which receives Christ is as simple as an act where your child receives a banana from you, because you hold it out and promise to give her the banana she comes for it. The belief and the receiving relate only to a banana; but they make up precisely the same act as the faith which deals with everlasting salvation. What the child's hand is to the banana, your faith is to the perfect salvation of Christ. The child's hand does not make the banana, nor improve the banana, nor warrant the banana; it only takes it; and faith is chosen by God to be the receiver of salvation, because it does not pretend to create salvation, or to help in it, but it is satisfied humbly to receive it.

Psalm 91 Dedicated to Freda Linn
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most HighShall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.2 I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress;My God, in Him I will trust."Let us break this down; in the secret place: This is when a person trusts in God and lives close to Him. The title Most High emphasizes God's magnificence and is equivalent to the term Almighty, a translation of the divine title Shaddai. Jointly the terms Most High and Shaddai speak of God as a mountain-like majesty, in whose company there is a "secret place" or a shadow. My refuge and my fortress may be rephrased as "my protected stronghold."3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the £fowlerAnd from the perilous pestilence.4 He shall cover you with His feathers,And under His wings you shall take refuge;His truth shall be your shield and buckler.When it says Fowler and pestilence: The images of a bird trap and a wide range of types of illness are an explanation of dangers that might come to weak people.His feathers and His wings: God is described as a mother hen beneath whose wings we can come for refuge. Shield and buckler indicates complete protection from all harm. God is an all protective shield for the believer.5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,Nor of the arrow that flies by day,6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.The relationship of the words night and day in these verses indicates the universal nature of God's protection. The Words Terror, arrow, pestilence, and destruction together refer to evil.7 A thousand may fall at your side,And ten thousand at your right hand;But it shall not come near you.8 Only with your eyes shall you look,And see the reward of the wicked.Though thousands fell the Israelites in Egypt were spared the danger that touched their neighbors. Believers in the Lord are sheltered from any attack. Look and see the punishment of the wicked and rest assured the deliverance of the blameless.9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,Even the Most High, your dwelling place,10 No evil shall befall you,Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;My refuge is in the coming one our lord Jesus Christ. Dwelling place refers to the Lord as the "refuge" of His people. The title Most High emphasizes God's majesty and is equivalent to the term Almighty.11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,To keep you in all your ways.12 In their hands they shall bear you up,Lest you dash your foot against a stone.13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.The words His angels and a stone were words used by Satan to tempt the Savior. The lion and the cobra are animal and snake imagery and in this verse pictures all kinds of evil that might threaten the coming One. The Father will shield Him no matter what the threat.14 "Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;I will set him on high, because he has known My name.The word love has the idea of "holding close to," even "hugging tightly in love". He has known my name, speaks of a close, experiential knowledge of the Father. (experiential meaning derived from or relating to experience as opposed to other methods of acquiring knowledge)15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;I will be with him in trouble;I will deliver him and honor him.(He shall call upon me) He must continue to pray; all his blessings must come in this way, when he calls, I will answer him and I will give him whatever is best for him.(I will be with him in trouble) Literally, I am with him. Immediately as the difficulty comes, I am there.(I will deliver him) For his good I may permit him to be exercised for a time, but he will be delivered.(And honor him) "I will glorify him." I will load him with honor; that honor that comes from God. I will even show to men how highly I prize such.16 With long life I will satisfy him,And show him My salvation."(With long life) with length of days will I fill him up?He shall neither live a ineffective life, nor die prior to his time. He shall live joyful and die joyful.(And show him my salvation) He shall dwell in my glory, and throughout eternity increase in his resemblance to and delight of me. he shall have a extended life in this world, and an eternity of blessedness in the world to come

In the Beginning
Hello and thank you for visiting my blog. My purpose is to share the gospel as God leads me. First I want to give you some background information about me. I am Married and a Father of six. I have 5 boys and 1 girl and yes she is well protected by her brothers. I served in the US Army for six years including a tour in Desert Storm. I have worked for Corporate America most of my life working 50 to 70 hours per week. Many years ago I had a calling on my life to be a pastor; however I didn't act on that calling. A few years passed and I had the calling again even stronger. I turned it over to God and said in your timing not mine. I was working one day and my wife had to have emergency surgery, my employer told me I had to come in that day by a certain time or I didn't have a job anymore. That was the day I knew I needed to work from home so I could also start working towards my goal of being a pastor. I now work at home full time with a great new business and I know God is going to bless my business. I wanted to attend rhema this year but it wasn't in the plan. My hope is to have built my business big enough so I can start Rhema or Victory Bible. I have turned my business over to God and all the glory and credit goes to God! My URL for this blog contains godsjoshua in the URL. Joshua is my youngest son and he already knows he wants to be a pastor, he is 11 years old. Thank you Jesus!
